Student Success Stories

Behind every statistic is a student, a family and a story. These are some of the young people whose lives have been shaped through the support of PRDS.

Puja Mondal

Puja Mondal

Puja joined PRDS at the age of 14 while studying in Class 9. With support from PRDS, she continued her education, completed her studies and trained at the Skills Training Centre. She now earns an income through tailoring and clothing alterations, while also helping lead the Sanitary Pad Group to improve menstrual health awareness in the community.

“PRDS gave me the opportunity to continue my education and build a future for myself and other young women.”
Bikram Naskar

Bikram Naskar

Bikram joined PRDS's Boria Centre in 2017 as a Class 6 student. Through free tuition, dedicated teachers and student sponsorships, he completed school and is now studying Political Science through Calcutta University's open study programme. He also works as an office assistant at a local school and returns to PRDS to encourage younger students.

“Without the support of PRDS, I would not have been able to complete my education.”
Pabritra Mondal

Pabritra Mondal

Pabritra joined PRDS in Class 6 and has been connected to the centre for more than a decade. After leaving school at 15 due to hardship and health challenges, encouragement from PRDS teachers helped him return to education. He completed school, earned an Arts Degree and now works as an Air Conditioning Technician in one of Kolkata's largest hospitals.

“PRDS helped me get back on track and completely changed the direction of my life.”
