  • Community Based
  • Education Focused
  • Brighter Futures

Panikhali Rural Development Society (PRDS) is an Indian registered non-governmental organisation based in Panikhali Village in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Since 2006, we have worked alongside local communities to improve educational opportunities and support children, young people and families from marginalised backgrounds.

Through pre-school education, academic support, scholarships, skills training and community programmes, we help create pathways to opportunity while strengthening the communities where we work.

Today, PRDS operates three education centres and one skills training centre, supporting more than 1,300 students and their families each year.

Where We Work

PRDS works in rural communities in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, one of India's largest and most densely populated regions.

Many families rely on seasonal agriculture, fishing and daily wage labour for income. Limited educational opportunities, poverty and geographic isolation continue to create significant challenges for children and young people.

Through our centres and community programmes, PRDS works alongside local families to create greater access to education, skills training, healthcare and opportunity.
