Pre-School

Our centers provide comprehensive preparation for children aged 4-6, ensuring a smooth transition into formal schools. Our dedicated teachers equip them with fundamental skills in Bengali, English, and Mathematics. We foster creativity and joy as integral elements of the learning journey, incorporating games, drawing, and songs into our curriculum. Upon completing the two-year pre-school course, children seamlessly integrate into local Government-run schools and proceed to our Follow-Up Programme, which ensures continued support and progress. By offering a holistic approach to education, we empower children to excel academically while nurturing their imagination and enthusiasm for learning.

Nutrition

At the conclusion of our pre-school lessons each morning, we prioritize the well-being of our children by providing them with a nutritious meal. This meal serves as a crucial source of essential nutrients and vitamins, supplementing what may be lacking in their regular diets at home. Our dedicated school cook, affectionately known as Mashi, prepares the food daily, ensuring that it meets the dietary needs of our students.

The provision of this nutritious meal not only contributes to the physical health of our students but also acts as an incentive for regular school attendance. By offering this meal, we instill in our children the habit of attending school consistently from an early age, emphasizing the importance of education and fostering a positive learning environment.

Follow-Up

Upon graduating from our pre-school program, students seamlessly transition into our follow-up program, where they attend our centers on a daily basis for academic support and tuition. Our dedicated teachers deliver tailored lessons, focusing on the subjects that align with their school curriculum and providing assistance in areas where students may be facing challenges. In addition to academic guidance, we diligently track the progress of each student in their respective schools, establishing close collaborations with local educational institutions and families. By closely monitoring their development, we ensure that students are supported throughout their academic journey, reducing the likelihood of early school dropout. Through this holistic approach, we strive to empower students with the necessary resources and guidance to thrive academically and reach their full potential.

Student Scholarships

To combat the rising expenses associated with education, especially during the crucial final stages of secondary schooling, we extend sponsorship to all students as they approach the culmination of their educational journey. Thanks to our collaboration with Calcutta Connect, we are able to provide comprehensive financial assistance to students starting from Class IX, covering admission fees, books, stationery, and uniforms. This support is particularly crucial as the costs incurred during these last years of schooling often exceed the financial capabilities of many families. By offering this sponsorship, we aim to ensure that economic constraints do not impede students from continuing their education and protect them from premature dropout. Our goal is to create an environment where students can thrive, enabling them to pursue their studies without the burden of financial strain and opening doors to brighter futures.

Mothers Groups

The mother’s groups play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for parents to share experiences and collectively work towards solutions. These meetings serve as an opportunity for community members to voice their concerns, seek guidance, and discuss methods to overcome barriers to education. With a shared commitment to education, the mothers groups actively participate in devising actionable plans that address access to education, encourage active parental involvement, and highlight the importance of academic achievement. Through empowering mothers and fostering community engagement, we strive to secure a bright and promising future for the children in our communities through education.

Tailoring Training 

Our tailoring training program is designed specifically for the mothers of our students, offering them the opportunity to acquire valuable skills in tailoring and clothes production. Through this program, we aim to empower these mothers by providing them with a lifelong income generation skill that can significantly contribute to supporting their families and generating sustainable income.

During the course, our dedicated instructors guide the mothers through comprehensive training modules, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of tailoring. From sewing techniques to pattern-making, our program covers a wide range of skills essential for garment production.

Health & Well Being

At Panikhali Rural Development Society, we prioritize the promotion of a healthy lifestyle for our students and their families across all three centers. Recognizing the significance of maintaining good hygiene and health, we conduct regular sessions focused on health and hygiene awareness for all our stakeholders.

To further address the healthcare needs of the community, we organize medical and dental camps throughout the year. These camps provide community members with the opportunity to receive comprehensive assessments and consultations from qualified medical practitioners. By facilitating access to healthcare professionals, we strive to ensure that our community members receive the necessary medical attention and guidance to lead healthy lives.

Computer Training

In 2020, as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our centers, we proudly introduced computer training at Panikhali Rural Development Society. With the completion of the building redevelopment, we seized the opportunity to equip each center with 24 computers, ensuring that eight computers were available at each location. Our dedicated team of computer trainers is committed to providing comprehensive classes to our students, encompassing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in computer usage.

It is important to note that many of our students have had limited or no prior exposure to computers. Recognising the significance of computer literacy in today’s world, we believe that this training program will play a pivotal role in their educational journeys and future careers. By imparting computer skills, we aim to empower our students with the necessary tools to navigate the digital landscape, opening doors to greater educational and professional opportunities.
